Agreement
By using Moonlet you agree to these terms. If you got the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two differ, Apple's terms govern that copy.
Your licence
Moonlit Lab AI grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. You may not resell the app or remove its notices.
AI replies can be wrong
Replies, lessons, quizzes and grades are written by AI models — on your device, or a cloud account you connect. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important, and do not rely on the app for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions, or in an emergency.
Models are not included
The app contains no AI model. Get Ornith downloads Ornith 1.5, made by ornith-ai and released under the MIT licence, in a copy Moonlit Lab AI converted to run in this app; the licence comes with it. Other models you download come from third parties, for example through Hugging Face, under their own licences and terms, and you are responsible for following them. Moonlit Lab AI does not control or vouch for third-party models.
Other services
Web search, page reading, Wikimedia, stock data, a cloud model account you connect and any service you add are run by others and governed by their terms. They may change or stop working at any time.
Using it fairly
Do not use the app to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, to infringe anyone's rights, or to create sexual content involving minors.
Families
Parents and guardians set up and supervise student profiles, and choose which models students may use. The app's model labels (“Family-safe”, “Not for students”) read a model's name, publisher and listing; they are a guide, not a review of the model. The student features reduce the chance of unsuitable content; they cannot rule it out.
Your content
What you write and what the app produces for you stays on your device and is yours.
No warranty
The app is in active development and is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Moonlit Lab AI is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost data, and total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes, ending and law
These terms may be updated; the current version is always in the app with its date (last updated 23 October 2026). You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. Write to Moonlit Lab AI at hello@moonlitlabai.com.
The app
Moonlet contains no third-party libraries, fonts or bundled AI models; it is built on Apple's system frameworks. Its engine and app were written for this project.
Models you download
Models are made by others and come with their own licences — for example the Qwen family (Alibaba Cloud), Ornith (ornith-ai) and Gemma (Google). The copy of Ornith 1.5 that Get Ornith downloads is converted from ornith-ai’s release under its MIT licence. Check a model's page on Hugging Face for its licence before you use it.
Services
Some features use Hugging Face, DuckDuckGo, Mojeek, Wikimedia Commons and Yahoo Finance. None of them is affiliated with or endorses this app.
